Hyaluron Contract Manufacturing Named A 2007 Economic Impact Award Finalist

Hyaluron Contract Manufacturing (HCM), a leading provider of aseptic manufacturing services to companies in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, announced recently that it has been selected as a finalist for the 2007 Team Massachusetts Economic Impact Award. HCM is one of five companies from the greater Boston area that is being considered for this award based on its strong contribution to the Massachusetts economy since January 1, 2006.

Since January of 2006, HCM has experienced significant growth, making it one of the fastest growing biotech manufacturers in the Commonwealth. In that time, HCM has invested over 2.25 million in facility expansion and has created nearly forty new jobs bringing its current headcount to eighty-five. In October of 2006, the company applied for a patent on its unique Bubble-free filling technology designed to reduce or eliminate the bubble inside a prefilled syringe.

HCM's future plans include the expansion of its current facility by at least 6,000 square feet and the addition of several new jobs, bringing the total number of employees to 100 by the end of 2007.

In its fourth year, the Team Massachusetts Economic Impact Award recognizes companies from across the Commonwealth for their outstanding contribution to the Massachusetts economy based on job and facility expansion as well as product launch and community involvement. Past winners include Boston Scientific, Bayer Diagnostics, and Wyeth Biopharmaceuticals.
