MicroBioLogics, Inc. and Pharmaceutical Resource Associates (PRA) are joining forces to internationally distribute a collection of tests for analyst competency. Together, PRA and MicroBioLogics have developed a product line that will allow aboratories to demonstrate and document analyst competency for a variety of microbiological and chemical tests. These analyst competency tests assist pharmaceutical laboratories in fulfilling USP, FDA and ISO 17025 requirements for personnel training.

PRA President Carl Craig states, "The concept is very similar to Proficiency Testing except analytical results and corresponding evaluations are focused individually rather than at the laboratory level. ACT is a valuable tool for laboratories because it provides an independently administered, and defensible, method of meeting competency testing requirements." Craig adds, "Teaming with MicroBioLogics allows us to offer a comprehensive suite of microbiological Analyst Competency Test standards with immediate individual analyst certification provided through the web."
