Minncare Now Tested And Used As A System Sterilant In Pharmaceutical Processing and filling systems

March 30, 2004

Mar Cor Purification and Minntech Corporation announce new applications for their Minncare Cold Sterilant. Minncare® Cold Sterilant is a peracetic acid based sterilant made with pharmaceutical grade raw ingredients and purified water. It was developed for use in disinfecting water treatment systems used for medical treatments like dialysis and for pure water systems like those used in the pharmaceutical and semiconductor industries.

The superior efficacy of Minncare has now led to its testing and use as a system sterilant in pharmaceutical processing and filling systems. The Minncare product can be used to disinfect and even sterilize the internal and external surfaces of pharmaceutical systems from piping, to pumps, to tubing, to filters and filling systems. Minncare's efficacy and fast-acting nature can make the process of sanitizing and/or sterilizing pharmaceutical systems faster and more economical for the end user.

The recent publication by the US Food and Drug Administration of its Draft Preliminary Concept Paper on Sterile Drug Products Produced by Aseptic Processing has brought new attention to the procedures used in creating an aseptic environment. Minncare Cold Sterilant is a new tool for pharmaceutical production professionals looking for more efficient and cost effective disinfection techniques.
