The most recent addition to Anton Paar's award-winning series of interactive eLearning courses has arrived: ‘Basics of Rheometry I Oscillation' follows the four previous courses about density measurement, CO2 content determination, viscometry and rotational rheometry. The CD provides a basic introduction to the science of rheological oscillatory testing.

This is the last of three courses dedicated to the science of rheology, all of which are presented by course avatar Joe Flow, a poetic engineer whose hands-on, simple approach helps eLearners to easily find their way into this complex topic.

Rheological oscillatory testing, the science of measuring materials deformation and flow behavior, is presented from the ground up. After being introduced to materials' general characteristics on Rheology Road, learners take a virtual tour through an ‘Elastic Exhibition', where they can take a good look at Hooke's Law of Elasticity and arrive at scientific definitions of stiffness.

Joe Flow then takes eLearners on a tour through the ‘Oscillatorium', where we learn more about the harmony of sine curves and the insights they provide, followed by a walk through a research center that is experiencing mysterious material troubles. Joe Flow together with his chaotic artistic partner William Whatever solve these mysteries – all answers are found in the ‘Rheometer Room'.

While this entertaining story unfolds, learners come face to face with actual measuring applications, instrument setups, measuring geometries, rheological results and evaluations. Interactive learning at its best – about rheometry in action!
