Video: Malvern Mastersizer 3000 Laser-Diffraction Particle Size Analyzer At AAPS 2011

October 28, 2011

At AAPS 2011, Joe Wolfgang, from Malvern Instruments, discussed the Mastersizer 3000. This is Malvern's new laser defraction particle size analyzer based on the Mastersizer 2000, with both a red laser and blue light source.

This system measures from 10 nanometers to 3500 microns with no optical changes or switches required. The length of the bench was really reduced, now approximately 28 inches long or 700 millimeters. It measures up to 3500 microns.

They also have a new dry powder disperser called the Aero, which is quite a significant change from what was previously used. The Aero has interchangeable dispersing lines and a different cassette mechanism that installs on the bench.
