Important saving of filter material by increased performance (20% – 40%) and optimal utilization of filter sheets.

Practical experience of several years has shown an important increase of performance for the filtration with depth filter sheets. This performance increase can result in an extended life time of the filter sheet or in an increase of the specific flow rate.

SeitzSchenk HFK high performance filter plates achieve an essentially best utilization of the used depth filter sheets. Saving of energy of up to 40%.

An important condition for an effective sterile filtration is a sterile filter. This requires a sufficient rinsing, regeneration and sterilisation of the filter sheets.

A high efficiency of these processes can be reached if following factors are optimized:

  • complete and equal distribution of filter material in the filter stack
  • ideal de-aeration in the filter stack
  • small volume of filter stack (no heating loss)
  • small gutter surface of the filter stack (thermal radiation)
  • ideal heat transfer from heat exchanger (water, vapor etc.) to the filter stack
  • small volume of filter stack

Spack Requirement

The filter plate has a reduced space requirement of approximately. 30%. Consequently a given size of chassis will now contain approve. 40% more chambers than in the pest.

Filtration Capacity

Sheet filtration is a depth filtration and uses the inner volume of the inserted filter sheet The filtration capacity which mainly depends on the flow geometry of a plate, has been essentially increased by the new developed supporting body. The effective filtration area is now 2.5 times larger than that of a common plate with perforated plates. Pre- and post runs

Extremely reduced pre- and post runs (head and tails) have been accomplished with this HFK stainless steel plate. The dead volume in the filter plate has been reduced by approve. 40% compared to conventional stainless steel plates.

Weight

The weight of the plate has been reduced to less than half the weight of a conventional plate. The advantages in respect of handling and foundation load are obvious.
