Low-levels of microbial contamination are critical to the pharmaceutical industry and in certain food production processes.

Supplying the production rooms with HEPA filtered air is not enough to maintain the requisite low-levels of microbial contamination in the airstream. The cleanrooms have to be designed in such a way that all surfaces are readily accessible and easy to clean and disinfect. In no case should there be any irregular joint surfaces that would enable microbe growth.

Since smooth surfaces and joints are required for the cleanroom ceiling, the Ultraflex Cassette Ceiling (UKD) was developed to meet the demand for easy cleaning, smooth joints, and a smooth surface.
