Cleanroom Cleaning Detergents

Q: We are in the process of building a cleanroom for medical device manufacturing.  What detergents do you recommend?

A: For cleanroom cleaning, we would recommend liquid concentrate detergents to avoid the creation of powdered clouds in the classified environment.  As part of a cleaning detergent rotation we typically recommend a 0.5% Liquinox® Critical Cleaning Liquid Detergent cleaning with a minimum of a single wet water mop rinse.

The lower concentration will still provide sufficient detergent capacity for the highly controlled and clean classified space, but allowing for an easy rinse.  The detergent can be used to clean walls, floors, counters and other hard surfaces throughout the cleanroom.  Furthermore, the cleaning actions of Liquinox detergent include the ability to break lipopolysaccharide bonds that form between microbes and a surface, or endotoxins and a surface.  Thus removing the above mentioned residuals.
