Walker is committed to meet all your specialized application needs. We have invested into custom stainless steel fabrication by dedicating both a design team and the manufacturing resources to develop custom products for the specialized applications of our customers.

The strength of the Walker custom design and fabrication team is based on the flexibility and experience of our craftsmen in stainless steel fabrication, which they channel into producing custom equipment, and their ability to align their custom fabrication skills with the project goals and parameters of our customers’ design groups.

Let’s take the example of a pressure vessel design. We offer the following options: We can build to print, working off of the customer supplied design which complies with ASME code specifications. Walker Engineered Products employs our fabricating expertise to produce it. Or, we can interact with customers who have a concept and certain attributes for a particular pressure vessel design which we detail out.

We work closely with the customer, providing input on materials, options and fabrication, so the functionalities the customer is looking for are built in. Then we design with manufacturability and code compliances in mind, and fabricate the pressure vessel to ASME, CRN for Canada or PED for Europe.

Versatility of materials plays a key role in custom fabrication. We use 304, 304L, 316L, 317L, 2205, and Alloy 20. Higher alloys such as AL6XN and Hastalloy may be required for some applications.

We provide customers with 3-D designs and models that represent a real-life picture of the custom design. We calculate for seismic and wind load according to IBC 2006, and we make the result of the finite element analysis available as verification of vessel and structural integrity. The Walker design team remains in touch throughout the project, using Integrated MRP to facilitate communication and assure the integrity of the process.
