Domino is further strengthening its range of print and apply labelers with the imminent launch of the M230i, the first M-Series unit to incorporate Domino's unique intelligent Technology (i-Tech) features and QuickStep user interface. Designed for secondary and tertiary packaging applications across a wide variety of industry sectors, the system will be showcased for the first time at booth C-1851 September 28–30 at PACK EXPO in Las Vegas.

The M-Series range of print and apply units offer a fully modular solution to meet the various case and pallet labeling needs of manufacturers. High resolution online coding allows for the application of barcodes, text and graphics on packaging labels, ensuring full GS1 supply chain compliance.

The new M230i offers enhanced user capability and innovative new features, simplifying the whole operation from label creation right through to print assignment. Featuring the intuitive TouchPanel color user interface and intuitive QuickStep software, end users will be able to navigate effortlessly through the various functions. The upgrade of the M-Series to proven i-Tech technology will result in reduced training requirements and fewer coding errors, especially where other Domino print technologies are already employed.

Still the most compact print and apply unit available, with 30% longer ribbon and label capacity at 600m, the M230i offers unparalleled levels of Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE). The inclusion of tool-free magnetic print head mounting allows for minimum downtime, as well as having the added benefit of a wide range of standard applicators to choose from such as Tamp, Blow, Wipe and Corner Wrap. A higher print speed allows for reduced cycle times, which makes the unit suitable for even faster production lines.

Domino’s SureStart single button activation system ensures perfect print quality right from the first label to the last. The M230i benefits from left and right hand versions as standard, as well as a more robust design to guarantee longevity and support all printer orientations.

Lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) due to increased print head life will ensure that operational efficiency is improved, with fast consumable and print head changes resulting in further reduced downtime. Full label area printing reduces waste and decreases consumable costs, as well as improving print head life.

Peter Lister, Product Marketing Manager for Print and Apply labeling, comments:

“Existing and potential print and apply equipment users should not miss the opportunity to see first-hand the latest M-Series range at PACK EXPO 2015. The M230i will allow those involved in secondary and tertiary coding to explore new applications and improve profitability, while reducing their overall production costs.”
