Ensuring The Right Concentration When Dissolving Granulated Sugar
Source: Anton Paar USA
Sugar is mostly processed as a solution in water to a standardized sugar syrup at 60 to 67 °brix. Different mixing technologies and discontinuous and continuous processes are in use.
The required quantity of well-tempered dissolving water is provided in the mixer. In many cases a conveyor feds the granular sugar to the mixer. The solid sugar is mixed and re-circulated to the mixing tank. Once the dissolving procedure is finished, the sugar syrup is filtered, pasteurized, and passed on to a buffer tank.
