Request Information

ISPE will present the latest in technical education, case studies, and real world, industry-impacting information for the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry at its 2007 Annual Meeting at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S., November 4-7.

ISPE — a global not-for-profit Society representing 25,000 Members — presents this premier event for professionals to interact with industry visionaries, and be active participants in shaping the future of pharmaceutical manufacturing and biotechnology.

"Delivering Today, Transforming Tomorrow" will focus on delivering what's new, current, and relevant to the industry, focusing on fundamentals, best practices, transformation, and innovation.

More than 40 sessions — including regulatory workshops — will provide information and interaction on Product Quality Lifecycle Implementation (PQLI), personalized medicine, technology transfer, nanotechnology, real world project management, disposables, latest trends in laboratory design, and three newly-released ISPE technical documents.

Keynote speakers will present timely and compelling topics on the cost of quality, perspective from another industry, and an insider's view of a generic facility.

Speakers include:

  • Charlie Portwood, President of Wyeth's Technical Operations and Product Supply (TO&PS) organization, will discuss the Importance of Integrating Standardized Systems in Quality Manufacturing.
  • Gary Convis, Chairman of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky and Executive Vice President of Toyota Mort Engineering and Manufacturing North America, will discuss the role of management in lean manufacturing, along with its commitment to a "customer first" philosophy; and
  • Uri Boneh, Director of Global Engineering for Teva Global Generic Resources, will speak about Teva's Jerusalem oral solid dosage plant recently completed and approved by the US Food and Drug Administration.
New to the 2007 ISPE Annual Meeting, sessions will be organized by seven tracks to help attendees choose the events that best meet their needs, or allow them to cross-train in areas of interest outside their fields. Tracks include:
  • Regulatory/Compliance
  • Facilities and Engineering
  • Guides and Guidance Documents
  • Manufacturing
  • Innovation
  • Investigational Products
  • Project Management
The regulatory track will include three sessions on PQLI on 5-6 November, and bring together regulators from all three ICH regions — European Medicines Agency (EMEA), U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare (MLHW) — and the respective industry trade organizations from those three regions.

This rich program will offer delegates the opportunity to share their expertise with the regulators, who will be there to listen to the industry, in order to begin to define areas where industry will be able to provide technical framework for the implementation ICH documents and help craft a pragmatic approach to implementing the Q8, Q9, and ultimately Q10 guidances.

These sessions will build on the foundation created in Washington in June; will build on the Berlin Conference to be held in September; and will be the basis to help create the agenda for Copenhagen, Denmark in April 2008.
