Major Nutritional Supplement Manufacturer Increases Production With New Mixing And Blending System

A major nutritional supplement manufacturer needed to address the need for greater efficacy and additional capacity in the production of various products. Limited manufacturing space and low ceiling height prevented the use of a column blender application, so Custom Powder Systems designed an automated vertical bin lift and shuttle system to transport raw ingredients in hopper bottom bins, discharge the bin into the blending vessel, blend the ingredients using an automated “recipe” for rpm’s and blending time, and discharge back into transport bins for transfer to the tablet press. An automated CIP system that includes booster and detergent pumps cleans and dries the blending vessel for the next formulation. CPS custom designed, fabricated, automated and tested the entire system. The manufacturer has achieved additional production with larger batch sizes and increased efficacy for quality demands.

Custom Powder Systems (CPS) manufactured a 5000 Liter blender that fits and can be loaded and discharged within their limited manufacturing space and low ceiling heights. CPS 20° offset blender angle uses the blender sides as baffles and causes the material to cross flow as it is being tumbled.
