IMA INDUSTRIES will exhibit new solutions for tea, coffee, convenience food and end-of-line. 

GIMA machines in display

The FTB 549 machine, already on the confectionery market for the packaging of bottles of chewing-gum and candy, can now manufacture pods starting from the open blank, for American and espresso coffee, tea and other soluble beverages in general. These products are packaged thanks to robots fitted with gripping, suction cup type hands able to reduce to a minimum the spaces between one pod and the other. In its standard version, the machine can put together up to 80 boxes/minute and can manage up to 500 pods/minute.

The UMSK 70 is part of the UNIVERSAL MACHINES range which handle almost all the tasks involved in the production of processed cheese, convenience products and confectionary: from mixing and chopping, emulsifying and vacuum deaeration to heating and cooling. The Universal Machines are available for batch sizes from 2.5 up to 170 ltr. and all share one important characteristic: versatility. They follow the unique STEPHAN principle (all-in-one) and can be relied upon to carry out the entire process with all production steps.

The MCH-D 150C is part of the MICROCUT machines range which are compact and easy to use. The unique Microcut principle allows fine cutting and emulsifying processes in one machine. Microcut machines with double cutting set are for medium and big capacity applications but need a very small place in the factory only. They handle almost all the tasks involved in the production of meat masses for sausage production, fine pate, puree, baby food and similar fine and smooth products in the meat and convenience industry.

The COMBITHERM CT800 is ideal for efficient and economic processing of dressings, purred food and baby food as well as spreads, paté and processed cheese. A wide range of processes are covered. Cutting, dispersing and emulsifying at vacuum conditions can be supplemented by the well-known economic STEPHAN direct steam injection technology. The proven STEPHAN geometry of the knives ensures ideal flow conditions and the specific vessel design ensures efficient mixing.

BFB machines on display

The WA30 is a new wraparound case packer which is suitable to pack any kind of products into a shipper starting from flat-blank. The machine on show can reach a mechanical speed equal to 30 cases/minute. A version for higher speed (up to 40 cases/minute) is also available. It is characterized by a clean and cantilever design with very limited footprint. The flat-blanks magazine is ergonomically positioned to allow easy case loading. The machine is electronically driven in the main motions with GANTRY system. Very quick and tool-free size changeover.

IMA ACTIVE machines on display

The SPINE is an automatic inspection and sorting system for tablets and capsules produced by SENSUM. The machine has an ergonomic design and inspects the entire surface of tablets and capsules (i.e. size, shape, cracks, colour deviations, etc.) reaching a high inspection speed up to 360.000 products/hour.

The SENSITIVE AP400 TE 3T is a new carton labeller featuring the application of labels on three of the carton's sides, with positive transport system. The machine is capable of applying two tamper-evident security seals on the two sides of the carton and one vignette on the top side (up to 500 cartons/minute). The advantage of this machine is the compact and ergonomic design that allows an easy access and a quick cleaning. It features video-cameras and printers to comply with the highest Track & Trace and serialization requirements.

The UNILINE is a complete capsule/tablet counting line that incorporates container loading, desiccant and/or cotton insertion, counting and filling, capping, coding and rejection in an extremely compact and monobloc design. UNILINE’s innovative conveyor system allows for positive bottle transportation, from loading to rejection, which ensures traceability at every stage of the packaging cycle. This unique conveyor system requires no operator intervention and no special size parts during bottle size changeovers. 

The SWIFTCOUNT counter has been designed for ease of operation and simple setting. It incorporates a similar microprocessor package to that used on the high speed IMA SAFE SWIFTPACK counting machines, achieving the same high level of accuracy and reliability. The basic unit comprises a stainless steel cabinet with integral microprocessor control system, vibrator feed arrangement with variable vibration control, quick release twin-track feed tray and contact parts, stainless steel outlet funnel and clear plastic dust cover.

With the brand-new CS Linear, CO.MA.DI.S. presents its single-nozzle version of tube filling machine based on a linear track, as a profitable alternative to the “classic” C1090-C1110 range (the real “state of the art” of single nozzle technology, equipped with a turntable). The main features are those that have made the company famous around the world. This includes outstanding machine accessibility, simple size changeover sequences, quick disassembly of product contact parts, user-friendly and effective control logics (output of 100 tubes/minute).
