The Solution to Temperature-Sensitive Pharmaceutical Sampling

Source: Jarden Life Sciences

The approval and increasing use of biological pharmaceuticals has propelled the pharmaceutical and supply chain management industries forward. These biologic drugs treat a variety of disease states, including diabetes and cancer, as well as vaccinate against infectious diseases – providing new treatment options for certain patient populations. However, despite advances across the supply chain, these drugs remain vulnerable throughout the last mile – the final supply chain leg of pharmaceutical products to healthcare providers and patients – due to their temperature-sensitive nature.

In an effort to prevent jeopardizing biologic product safety, efficacy and potency, regulations have been promulgated on the proper storage and transportation environment for any given product – typically referred to as temperature maintenance.
