It all started in 1967: Anton Paar produced the first digital density meter with an oscillating U-tube, marking a turning point for density measurement and replacing hydrometers and pycnometers. Hans Stabinger and Hans Leopold, two renowned Austrian scientists, developed the prototype, and Ulrich Santner, head of the Anton Paar company, took it into production: The first DMA (Density Measuring Apparatus) was born.
