New product advances have been made to HPLC instrumentation to vastly increase throughput and speed up analysis times. Sub-2µm HPLC packings increase performance, allowing even shorter columns and faster analysis times without sacrificing resolution. However the lack of phases allowing differing selectivity and/or modes of separation still limit the separations possibilities for many end-users. Here we discuss the advantages of combining the right column format with a variety of unique sub-2µm phases in order to optimize separation abilities by managing selectivity. These advantages can be realized on the latest high-end systems as well as conventional HPLC systems.
