Brookfield Engineering Laboratories Company Profile
Brookfield is the world's leading manufacturer of viscometers and rheometers, texture analyzers, and Powder Flow Testers for the pharmaceutical industry. The physical properties of tablets and capsules are a critical characteristic. The hardness of a tablet, the dissolution of a tablet and capsule will have an effect on drug release rate in the body. The Brookfield CT3 Texture Analyzer accommodates variable geometries while maximizing the value of data obtained.
Brookfield has developed a new line of pharmaceutical accessories for the most powerful, economical, stand-alone CT3 Texture Analyzer. While many CT3 accessories have multiple applications, these are particularly useful for the pharmaceutical world! Adhesive Tack Tester for measuring stickiness of pressure sensitive adhesive materials such as tape. Capsule Loop Tensile Test Fixture (as shown in photo) is used to measure the force required to split one half of a hard gel capsule. Muco Adhesion Test Fixture quantifies tablet adhesiveness to a mucosal surface by simulating body and temp conditions and force needed to pull tablet away from surface. Multiple Probe Assembly consisting of nine 3mm probes and base plate designed to hold nine small samples of irregular geometry such as peas, corn, nuts or dried fruit. Syringe Test Fixture for measuring the force required to push or pull syringe plunger. It's important to pre-filled syringe market or manufacturers of custom syringe products. R/S-CPS Plus Rheometer
The Brookfield advantage is guaranteed instrument quality coupled with affordable price. The R/S Plus Controlled Stress Rheometer and the DV-III Ultra Cone/Plate Rheometer are the popular instruments of choice in most departments. Brookfield's R/S Plus Rheometer is the answer to most ointments that need to be sufficiently thick when standing to prevent them from oozing away from the intended area of use. They also need to flow easily when applied (known as shear thinning behavior). This instrument measures high viscosity at near zero shear rate to determine yield stress values and to create viscosity vs. shear rate flow curves which simulate rubbing and spreading. For more information on Brookfield's R/S Plus Controlled Stress Rheometer.
DV-III Ultra Rheometer
The DV-III Ultra Cone/Plate Rheometer has security features, which protect test method and data integrity required by pharmaceutical companies. Brookfield offers several temperature control solutions, which support test requirements for assessing temperature sensitivity of pharmaceutical materials. Visit here
In-line process viscometers can enhance the manufacturing process by eliminating the need for grab samples. For the complete solution, Brookfield instruments are the best choice.
POWDER SAMPLE TESTING
Brookfield Engineering has established new Powder Flow Testing Labs in Boston Massachusetts, USA, Harlow Essex England (near London), Dresden Germany, Guangzhou China, and Mumbai India. Brookfield developed these labs in response to increasing customer demand for rapid evaluation of powder behavior and flowability.
Customer samples are tested using Brookfield's PFT Powder Flow Tester for Flow Function, Wall Friction and Bulk Density as a function of consolidation stresses. Shear cell methodology is the technical approach used to test all customer samples in accordance with ASTM D6128, D6682, and D6773.
The testing is completed within 5 business days and the results are emailed to the customer. These reports enable the customer to see actual data which can be used to improve their process by characterizing powders with flow aids, and serve as a reference for future powder formulations.
Brookfield offers the first three Powder Sample Tests for free with a nominal charge for additional sample testing. Customers are also given the opportunity to use the PFT at their facility for a one week trial period.
