About Us

We are the leading provider of non-destructive, optical-based research, at-line and in-line detection systems to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and contract manufacturing industry. All of our systems utilize Lighthouse's patented optical spectroscopy technology that provides for the fast and accurate detection of headspace oxygen as well as the simultaneous detection of headspace moisture and pressure in sealed parenteral containers.

We are focused exclusively on the pharmaceutical industry and have developed many applications for our clients that utilize our research, at-line and in-line systems. These systems have been validated, registered and installed worldwide by some of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies; helping all of them improve the quality and reduce the cost of their parenteral products.

Research And Development Applications

"Moisture Permeation Studies Using a Non-Destructive Headspace Moisture Analyzer"
Abstract: The Lighthouse FMS-1400M enables the rapid and non-destructive analysis of headspace moisture levels. The utility and flexibility of this instrument is demonstrated by two moisture permeability studies. In the first study, the instrument is used to measure the Water Vapor Permeation Rate (WVTR) of a particular blister pack material. In the second study, the instrument is used to measure the moisture permeation through a rubber stopper over the shelf life of a commercial freeze-dried product.

"Container Closure Studies Using Non-Destructive Headspace Oxygen and Headspace Pressure Analyzers"
Abstract: The Lighthouse FMS-760 Headspace Oxygen Analyzer and FMS-1400 Headspace Pressure Analyzer can be utilized for container closure studies of sterile product packaged under a nitrogen overlay or under full/partial vacuum. Quantitative analysis of the headspace oxygen and/or headspace pressure levels gives deeper insight into the container closure system than a simple pass/fail result.

"Package Development for Lyophilized Product: Vacuum Retention Studies Using a Non-Destructive Headspace Pressure Analyzer"
Abstract: The choice of vial/stopper combination can be critical for assuring proper container closure integrity. This study demonstrates the utility of the FMS-1400P Headspace Pressure Analyzer for performing vacuum retention studies for specific vial/stopper combinations.
