The Dr. Schleuniger Group of companies was founded in 1955. Production and worldwide sales of the model 2E tablet hardness tester began in 1972. In 1990, Dr. Schleuniger Pharmatron AG was formed to focus solely on solid dose testers for the global pharmaceutical market. In the same year a subsidiary was established in the United States at Manchester New Hampshire, with a branch in Puerto Rico, to better serve the North, Central and South American markets. Over 15,000 Dr. Schleuniger Pharmatron testers are in use world-wide. Distributors and factory centers in over 40 countries provide after-sales support to pharmaceutical and nutraceutical manufacturers.

Our analog model 2E hardness tester was introduced over 37 years ago. Many are still operational and are so popular with their owners we are compelled to continue offering service and parts. Dr. Schleuniger – At INTERPHEX New York 2010, Walter Friesendorf from Dr. Schleuniger Pharmatron introduces a new model 6D softgel tester designed to provide the user an excellent tool to judge the quality of both hard- and softgel capsules. The model 6D tested can compress a softgel capsule by any given dimension and by any given distance. The model 6D tester allows the user to judge contract manufactured products and also research and develop hard- and softgel capsules.
