The GKF HiProTect is a capsule filling machine with containment for processing potent substances. This system answers the growing need for pharmaceutical researchers and manufacturers to be completely isolated from active substances during operation, maintenance, and cleaning. The GKF HiProTect does this through an array of automated processes and provides a true containment solution. The GKF HiProTect is designed to provide easy accessibility to all stations, making it simple to interact with the machine components inside the contained area. The machine is upgradeable and additional stations can be easily added to accomodate future production needs making it adaptable to exact customer applications.

The GKF HiProTect is suitable for a wide range of filling options, such as powder, tablets, pellets, liquids and combination filling. The modular design concept also accommodates for future production needs by allowing additional filling stations to be easily integrated later. The flexibility of a large variety of filling combinations enables production to respond to changing market demands and ensures a long-term cost-effective investment. All of the filling stations are based on the proven technology from the standard GKF line with improvements to meet the requirements for containment and automatic cleaning.

Product or batch changes usually require a cleaning process. The GKF HiProTect has an integrated cleaning system to maintain the level of operator protection during this process step. A principle philosophy used in the design was to avoid unnecessary product waste. The "no cap/no fill" function prevents contamination inside the production environment. The filling unit will only dose the product when a complete empty capsule is present. Several spray nozzles, which move inside the machine during the cleaning cycle, clean every square inch with desalinated water, acids, or caustic cleaning solutions. A programmable washing system stores and recalls cleaning protocols, guaranteeing a reproducible cleaning result for your individual wash-in-place or clean-in-place process. The GKF employs 316L stainless steel and FDA-approved plastics in compliance with industry standards.
