Freeze Dryers: Ray Cabinet
The RAY freeze dryers are designed as modular systems. The cabinet, the heating plates and the vapor condenser are built as individual units.
The advantages of modular design include:
- A shorter interval between order and commercial production due to quick installation.
- Easy access for cleaning and maintenance.
- The possibility of local subcontracting
Ray 8, 17, 30, 45 & 50
A water flushing de-icing system is used for the small RAY cabinets.
At the end of the freeze-drying cycle, the condenser is flushed with pre-heated water. After approximately 10 minutes the ice is melted completely and the water is drained.
Water flushing is ideal for small systems.

Ray 75, 100, 125 & 150
The large RAY cabinets incorporate Atlas Denmark's patented Continuous De-Icing system (CDI). The CDI system is fully automatic. It ensures:
- A maximum ice build-up of only 2-3 mm (1/10"), which results in low temperature drop over the ice and low energy consumption in the refrigeration plant.
- Constant condenser capacity
- High freeze-drying capacity per square metre oftray surface.
