Sartorius Stedim Biotech and NewAge Industries Inc. have signed an exclusive supply agreement for the integration of GammaTag™ gamma-stable RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tag into single use Fluid Management Technologies used in the biopharmaceutical industry.
The GammaTag™ RFID tag and PET Process Equipment Tracking™ technologies (patent pending) can now be integrated into our Flexel® and Flexboy® single-use bags to provide paperless traceability through a gamma-stable medium.
GammaTag™ RFID tags enable integrated life cycle management for Flexboy® and Flexel® 3D single-use assemblies supplied by Sartorius Stedim Biotech. The GammaTag™ is the first Gamma stable RFID tag. RFID technology is an automated identification and tracking technology used to identify, read and record predefined events during the lifecycle of critical process components, enabling paperless traceability from original manufacture to disposal.
GammaTag™ RFID tags have a memory capacity of 2 Kb (2048 bytes) allowing for a significant amount of part specific and associated data to be recorded on and read from the tag.
