» The Hydrosart membrane is cross-linked cellulose based polymer that is chemically and physically stable in a broad pH range (pH 2.0 to pH 14).

∙ The membrane is naturally hydrophilic in nature hence it exhibits extremely low non-specific protein binding and virtually non-fouling characteristics.

∙ This makes it ideal for any application in the biopharmaceutical industry.

∙ Cassettes are available for both MF & UF processes. Unlike regenerated cellulose (RC) cassettes, the Hydrosart cassette can be cleaned with 1.0 N NaOH at 50 C and stored in 0.1 N NaOH for extended periods.

∙ Hydrosart cassettes are self sealing and do not require additional silicone gaskets.

∙ Each filter cassette is individually serialized for traceability, integrity tested and QC certified.

Hydrosart cassettes for crossflow filtration (TFF) are manufactured under the strictest of manufacturing conditions to meet the needs of the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology industries.
The Hydrosart membrane is guaranteed to contain cellulose esters only. It is derived from a "Patented" cross linking process that makes it stable to 1N NaOH at 50 C.
Cassettes are manufactured from 4 materials of construction that are guaranteed NOT to contain, or having been in contact with, materials of animal origin. All materials of construction pass the "USP 23 Class V1 Plastics Test".
Specific lots of cassettes are manufactured from a single lot (cast) of membrane for traceability and lot-to-lot consistency.
Hydrodynamic parameters, such as flow path lengths and channel heights are maintained when going from the smaller "Slice" cassette (0.1 m2) to the larger "Sartocon" cassette (0.6 m2). This ensures linear scalability from lab and pilot plant studies to full-scale production systems. (> 140 m2).
Experimental and anecdotal data shows the hydrosart cassette to be consistently superior to polyethersulfone (PES) membrane and regenerated cellulose (RC) membrane cassettes in product yields, cassette cleanability and re-use.
Protein retention is unaffected by repeated cleaning and cassette re-use.
The hydrosart cassette is designed with enlarged "oval" inlet and outlet ports for reduced pressure drop across the cassette.
The hydrosart cassette is compatible with cassette holding devices from other suppliers.
