BioFortis Inc. And Rx-360 Consortium Announce Release Of On-Line Pharmaceutical Supplier Audit Tool For The Rx-360 Consortium

Helps pharmaceutical companies securely share audit information to improve quality assessment and reduce costs and time for screening suppliers

BioFortis Inc., a leading software supplier to the pharmaceutical industry and the Rx-360 Consortium, an international pharmaceutical supply chain consortium, recently released the Rx-360 Audit Sharing Database. This online tool for Rx-360 Consortium members, which include pharmaceutical companies and suppliers, allows for the sharing of supplier audit information and will help improve supply chain quality and security while reducing the costs and time for performing audits.

Ensuring supply chain quality protects patient safety. Accordingly, pharmaceutical companies audit suppliers in order to ensure product quality and comply with regulatory requirements. These audits require both time and money from suppliers and pharmaceutical companies. The Rx-360 Consortium was founded in part to share high quality audit reports to reduce this overall audit burden, resulting in savings that can be re-invested in process and quality system improvements.

With the release of the Audit Sharing Database software, the Rx-360 Consortium has an efficient, secure, web-based audit “marketplace,” where Rx-360 members may see audit information, anonymously request a joint audit of a supplier, split audit costs, access a pool of audits, and view the status of any CAPAs (Corrective and Preventative Actions).

Brian Johnson, Chairman of the Rx-360 Consortium Board of Directors, commented: “The BioFortis team has delivered an effective and innovative solution for managing audit information that allows our members to realize the benefits of the Rx-360 audit programs and furthers the Consortium’s mission of protecting patient safety.”

“The Rx-360 database software leverages experience gained in the development of our Labmatrix platform, which provides secure, compliant and holistic data management of clinical and research information,” noted BioFortis CEO, Jian Wang, Ph.D. “Indeed, many of the same concepts of security, access control, data harmonization and compliance were successfully incorporated into the build of Rx-360 database.”
