CRB Tech Tank Offers Strategies To Optimize Production At INTERPHEX 2018

International Pharmaceutical Expo (INTERPHEX), the premier event dedicated to pharmaceutical and biotechnology innovation, technology and knowledge from development through commercialization, and the Parenteral Drug Association (PDA), the leading industry provider of science, technology and regulatory information, recently announced that CRB, a global network provider of technical consultant, engineers, architects and constructors focused in life sciences and advanced technologies, will once again offer the CRB Tech Tank Series at INTERPHEX. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn strategies to tackle industry drivers that optimizes processing and production and offers facilities a competitive advantage. INTERPHEX takes place April 17-19, 2018 at the Javits Center, New York, NY.

This year’s CRB Tech Tank series includes the following presentations:

“Flexible Manufacturing-Adapt or Die!” - Tuesday, April 17, 1:30pm - 2:15pm
A flexible facility that is not designed for the right market demand, product yields, product platform and drug delivery methods will not only be inflexible, but it will cost precious time and money. A well-thought-out, end-to-end approach and execution will allow a flexible facility to be designed cost effectively and constructed on time while safely providing revenue and growth for the business.
Presenters: Christa Myers, Associate/Senior Pharmaceutical Specialist, CRB; Allan Bream, Associate/Lead Biopharmaceutical Specialist, CRB

“Keep ’em separated! Integrating Segregation for Gene Vector Production” - Tuesday, April 17,2:30pm - 3:15pm
Don’t wait until your facility is overrun! Learn how to approach effective strategies for segregation of viral vector production, as found in gene therapy or vaccine manufacturing facilities. From strategic architectural layouts and room pressurization schemes to enabling technologies, a well segregated facility must be integrated from the top down.
Presenter: Peter Walters, Process Engineer, CRB

“Solving Demand Allocation Problem with Modeling and Simulations” - Tuesday, April 17, 3:30pm - 4:15pm
For a multi-site organization, allocating demands can be a challenging problem. Computer simulations, in conjunction with mathematical modeling, can be used to address this problem. Simply shifting loads from one facility to another without understanding site capacity and capability can hurt the overall network productivity. This presentation offers discussion based on a case study on how demands can be allocated to different sites based on the sites’ capabilities.
Presenter: Niranjan Kulkarni, PhD, Director, Operations Improvement, CRB
