Multisorb Technologies will once again exhibit its sorbent technology and solutions at INTERPHEX, North America’s leading annual pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical trade show. Multisorb will be promoting its flagship Calculations through Operations program and will be demonstrating several of its sorbent dispensing machines: the APA-2000 high-speed dispenser with a bottling line interface, the APA-500 low-speed, semi-automated dispenser – both are available as part of the StripPax or StabilOx System, and the APA-9000 canister dispenser, offered as part of the StabilOx, SorbiCap, and Multiform CSF Systems.

The Calculations through Operation program provides a comprehensive method for maintaining your pharmaceutical product’s stability profile through the use of an optimized sorbent (desiccant, oxygen absorber, etc.) that has been efficiently placed into your product packaging when required. It may sound complicated, but the complete program simply has three main components:

  1. An optimized sorbent formulation - Multisorb’s product development team will evaluate your product and its packaging to determine the sorbent formulation best suited to protect the product’s stability. This is done using Multisorb’s proprietary SimulOx and SimulSorb Pseudo-Empirical Modeling Programs.
  2. A sorbent platform – Multisorb’s sorbent formulations are available in Drop-In (packets and canisters), Fit-In (self-adhesive and compressed solid forms that fit securely into an existing space in a device) and Built-In (sorbent formulations added to plastic materials used to create a thermoformed sorbent component).
  3. A system dispenser – Each Drop-In sorbent is part of a complete system comprised of the sorbent and its corresponding dispenser. For example, the StripPax System is comprised of StripPax Packets, which have been formulated for a specific product, and a StripPax dispenser. Several dispenser models are available to accommodate various line speed s, interface requirements, and other options, such as splicing cabinets and gas/dry air purge systems.
