PTI will exhibit VeriPac Package Integrity/Leak Detection Systems at Interphex, March 18-20, 2014 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York, NY in Booth 2053A.

VeriPac’s core technology is based on the ASTM vacuum decay leak test method F2338-09 which was developed using VeriPac instruments. Case studies using VeriPac vacuum decay technology have proven it is an effective, beneficial non-destructive leak test method. This technology has been widely recognized in published literature by the ASTM, PDA as well as the U.S. FDA regulatory guidance and consensus standards.

VeriPac leak test systems are available in several configurations to accommodate a wide range of testing applications, depending on package specifications and test sensitivity requirements. The latest generation, VeriPac 400 series, also incorporates significant advances in networking capabilities that facilitate remote operation, system monitoring and MES integration capability.

VeriPac 455 - Micro Leak Detection/Container Closure Integrity Testing 
VeriPac 455 is a non-destructive inspection system for highly sensitive micro leak detection of empty & pre-filled syringes, liquid filled & lyophilized vials, ampoules, and other liquid filled packaging (both flexible and rigid). The VeriPac 455 features patent pending dual vacuum transducer technology that offers increased test sensitivity and produces very consistent, reliable, repeatable results. Applications for VeriPac 455 technology include stability studies, clinical trials, quality assurance testing and production statistical process control (SPC). The VeriPac 455 is capable of detecting leak rates as low as 0.05 cc/min. Results have proven to be superior and more reliable than the dye ingress test.

VeriPac 410/BL - non-destructive seal and leak detection for blister packs, sachets, and pouches with low headspace.
“Multi-cavity blister packs and low head space packaging use a variety of test methods to determine package integrity, with most being destructive, subjective, and unreliable,” Oliver stated. “The VeriPac 410 utilizes a combination of vacuum decay technology and differential force measurement to identify defective packages.

Multiple packages can be tested in a single test cycle, and the 410 identifies which package is defective. With multi-cavity blister packs, the location of the defective cavity is also identified. Test results are quantitative and provide operators with a definitive pass/fail, eliminating the subjective and destructive nature of other test methods, such as the blue dye leak test. The 410 also features a unique system design that enables fast changeover for different blister formats.”

VeriPac 400 Series - GMP grade test systems for rigid and flexible packaging
The VeriPac 400 Series are versatile non-destructive package inspection systems that provide a qualitative result (PASS or FAIL) as well as quantitative data that correlates to leak rate and leak size. To accommodate various package specifications and test sensitivity requirements, the VeriPac 400 Series are available in several configurations for both the leak test instrument and the test chamber design. Test sensitivity/leak rate detection ranges from 5 - 15 microns.
