Merck Recognizes 2007 Outstanding Operational Award Recipients

In a day long, invitation only gathering at their Whitehouse Station, NJ headquarters, Merck & Co recently recognized a number of companies as Merck's 2007 Outstanding Operational Award recipients.

Among these companies (and notably the only skidded systems provider invited), Techniserv, Inc. of Berwick, PA, a twenty-six year old engineering services, process and automation systems manufacturer, was recognized for their significant contribution to Merck's success in 2007 in the Capital Services and Equipment sector.

In presenting the award, Merck representative, Richard Spoor stated:

"Techniserv is an important strategic supplier to Merck in its Process Skids sourcing strategy.

Techniserv's willingness to participate in exhaustive Value Engineering exercises resulted in: a shared savings with Merck, competitive negotiated pricing to meet tight project budgets, Techniserv ordered long lead equipment on Merck's behalf eliminating additional variables on the "critical path", Techniserv worked collaboratively with industry competitors to find the best solutions for Assurance of Supply and consistently delivered ahead of agreed-upon schedules.

In addition to being able to manage large, critical orders, Techniserv's ability to quickly "shift gears" to support emergency system repairs enabled the restart of PEDVAX® production in the West Point, BTMC facility.
