IDF 2019 in Busan will provide a unique forum for knowledge exchange and sharing of best practice in diabetes prevention, education and treatment, helping to foster the collaborations, connections and political breakthroughs that are required to reduce the impact of diabetes on our societies. The IDF 2019 scientific programme will deliver 160 hours of scientific sessions, 300 speakers and 1000 posters, over 3 and a half days. With innovative and interactive sessions, the programme will provide top quality presentations from high-level speakers. Spreading knowledge to healthcare professionals in all fields of diabetes and at all experience levels, IDF 2019 will improve healthcare practice and enhance the lives of people with diabetes. The IDF 2019 programme is comprised of 8 streams: •Basic and Translational Science •Clinical and Therapeutic Research •Diabetes and Women •Diabetes Complications and Comorbidities •Diabetes in Society and Culture •Education and Integrated Care •Epidemiology and Public Health •Living with Diabetes that will build on the learnings and experiences of previous IDF Congresses and continue to explore new areas in diabetes research, education and public health. Key objectives include improving the understanding of the global diabetes pandemic and influencing the implementation of healthcare initiatives . A dedicated stream on living with diabetes will again give prominence to the role of people affected by diabetes in healthcare decision-making and design.
