With the US healthcare system creaking under the strain of delivering affordable access to quality care – real-world evidence (RWE) and value-based agreements offer a shining light to pharma’s struggles. However, with siloed databases, poor customer awareness of data’s value and lethargic adoption of new techniques, much work remains to be done. The costs and complexity of executing on RWE and value-based contracting strategies must reduce for these processes to become the everyday and bring the relief that the healthcare system so desperately needs.
