Catalent To Add Phase I Sterile Vial Filling Capabilities

Catalent Pharma Solutions, one of the leading providers of advanced dose form and packaging technologies as well as development, manufacturing and packaging services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry announces the addition of a Phase I sterile vial filling suite in its Research Triangle Park, NC facility, which will complement the existing clinical and commercial manufacturing capabilities in its nearby North Raleigh facility. The new suite will be designed to meet increasing market demand for early phase sterile product development and manufacturing services. It will be equipped to fill vials with most highly-potent compounds, traditional small molecule drug and biologics, as well as DEA Schedule 1-5 compounds. The suite is expected to be completed in early 2008, and will offer liquid fill and lyophilization capabilities. Catalent currently has Phase I capabilities in Blow/Fill/Seal and in pre-filled syringes in its facilities in Woodstock, IL and Limoges, France, respectively.
For more than two decades, Catalent has provided sterile product development services to the pharmaceutical industry and currently provides a full range of services from early pre-formulation development through registration and commercial manufacturing and packaging services for liquid-filled and lyophilized vials, pre-filled syringes, Blow/Fill/Seal and IV bags.
