GSK And Merck & Co, Inc. Has Selected Siemens SIPAT Product As Its Corporate PAT/QbD Solution For Solid Dosage Applications

SIPAT is becoming the solution of choice for PAT/QbD in the pharmaceutical industry. Several pharmaceutical companies recently decided to implement SIPAT in their processes. Two examples:

• Merck & Co. Inc. has selected Sipat as its corporate {AT/QbD solution for solid-dosage applications. The solution will be used as an integrated component of the overall facility operation and will support both commercialization (development, scale-up, and clinical manufacturing) and supply production. The PAT/QbD solution will provide the required data and analysis tools to support improved product development and lean manufacturing through an overall QbD approach.
• GlaxoSmithKline has selected Sipat as a corporate standard in its R&D and production facilities. A first pilot project is finished and a second one is under way. Other projects are being defined.

• Ferring Pharmaceuticals has decided to implement SIPAT as their PAT solution for their Pilot Plant in Saint-Prex, Switzerland, in order to perform process understanding and improvement for current and future products.
