Process analytical technology (PAT) is defined as "a system for designing, analyzing, and controlling manufacturing through timely measurements."

The desired goal of the process analytical technology (PAT) framework is to design and develop processes that can consistently ensure a pre-defined quality. The focus is to "build quality" into a product as opposed to only testing the product at the end of the manufacturing process to assure quality.

The aim of this study was to utilize near infrared (NIR) technology as a PAT tool in the prediction of a uniform blend in real time.
