The New Labconco Vacuum Pump Guide Helps Sort Out The Pump Selection Process For Your Product And Application
August 3, 2009
Labconco offers three types of vacuum pumps as accessories to products including freeze dry systems, glove boxes, centrifugal concentrators, and vacuum desiccators. The three pump types are Rotary Vane, Combination, and Diaphragm and they are all detailed within the new Vacuum Pump Selection Guide.
Within the easy-to-read guide you will find pump recommendations based on product and application, plus Dry Ice, Chemical, or Liquid Trap information.
Rotary Vane vacuum pumps provide a reliable vacuum source for a wide variety of laboratory products including FreeZone® Freeze Dry Systems, Protector® Controlled Atmosphere Glove Boxes and CentriVap® Vacuum Concentrators. The newest type of pump, the Combination Pump, integrates a high performance rotary vane pump with a chemical-resistant diaphragm pump to create a low maintenance, longer-lasting pump. The diaphragm pump removes the condensable vapors in the rotary vane pump before they can contaminate the oil. This extends the life of both the oil and the pump.
Diaphragm pumps are sized for use with CentriVap Vacuum Concentrators, RapidVap® Vacuum Evaporation Systems and Vacuum Desiccators and have uses with many other pieces of laboratory equipment that require a vacuum source. The wetted parts of these pumps are Teflon-coated for good corrosion resistance.
