MHI Vial Filling And Closing Machine From Bosch For Clinical Trials And Pilot Production

April 27, 2010

  • Auto-adjust without manual intervention
  • One filling station for multiple dosing systems
  • New sensor technology reduces or eliminates sensor adjustments

With the MHI 2020 vial filling and closing machine, Bosch Packaging Technology is solving challenges faced in the manufacturing of liquid pharmaceuticals for clinical trials and pilot production.

The MHI works with a self-monitoring and self-correcting filling process. This intelligent interaction between the transport system, In-Process Control, filling and stoppering stations ensures that the vials are precisely filled and closed. The MHI combination filling station can perform filling with either piston pumps or rolling diaphragm pumps to handle a wide variety of products.

"Since only programmable servo drives are used with the MHI, all production parameters can be saved and recalled in a recipe, without the need for any manual adjustments," explains Dieter Bandtel, the product manager for vial processing at Bosch Packaging Technology. "Especially for toxic, highly active and sensitive products, each ingress into the filling area that can be eliminated bolsters product quality and safety."

Additionally, the MHI offers an available integrated aseptic barrier system. The small footprint, easily accessible stations, and integrated monitoring technology allows the seamless integration of the MHI into various types of containment systems.
