See HVLD Leak Detection Technology In Action At Pack Expo International

PTI will showcase MicroCurrent HVLD Leak Detection System at the upcoming Pack Expo International, October 31 – November 3, 2010 in McCormick Place, Chicago, IL in Booth S-1349.
PTI Inspection Systems and Nikka Densok USA have partnered to promote HVLD non-destructive inspection technology for liquid filled packaging, providing both offline and 100% online solutions.
Nikka Densok will exhibit Model HSE-821 HVLD Leak Detection System for online inspection of cups and pouches up to 80/min. Brian Ball, president of Nikka Densok USA, commented, "High voltage technology has been very successful at pinhole micro leak detection in the pharmaceutical industry for many filled & sealed products such as ampoules, vials, BFS containers, blisters and syringes. This same technology can be used for non-destructive 100% inline inspection of pouches or rigid containers filled with liquid or moist product. We are able to find defects down to 5 microns."
MicroCurrent HVLD Technology Principle of Operation
High voltage is applied to a hermetically sealed package (flexible or rigid) made of non-conductive material. If a pinhole or crack is present on the package, the discharge current flows into the package through the pinhole, crack or seal imperfection. The defective package is detected by the differential of the current flow.
