SimulSorb/SimulOx Pseudo-Empirical Modeling for HDPE Bottle and Blister Pack Packaging Moisture, Oxygen and/or Hydrocarbon Management.
- Free moisture can play a central role in physical or chemical degradation of drug products.
- Free moisture within a drug product can come from the drug substance, excipients, additives, lubricants, binders, and granulation processes.
- Further hydration of drug products can occur via moisture ingress in the drug products [1] in-process bulk packaging and [2] commercial packaging.
- Except for amorphous drug substances, increased free moisture in drug product formulations can result in increased molecular mobility and an increased rate of chemical degradation (for all chemical degradation pathways).
- If required, Multisorb's intelligent desiccant products, oxygen absorbers, and hydrocarbon scavengers can be utilized cooperatively to promote drug product stability in clinical, bulk, and commercial packaging.
- Multisorb's product solutions are supported via our SimulSorb and SimulOx pseudo-empirical modeling services.
