Container Designs: Blow-Fill-Seal Machines

Source: rommelag USA, Inc.

bottelpack® Blow-Fill-Seal machines have been built for decades. During this time span more than 5,000 container shapes between 0.1 ml and 10 l have been developed by our design department, often in cooperation with our clients. Some of our designs and closures, such as IV containers with Eurocap closures or ampoules with Luer closures, have set packaging standards in the pharmaceutical markets.

Typical plastic material for package forming is PE or PP material. Resin types suitable for blow moulding technology are being used. Many suppliers offer resin grades not containing plasticizers, antioxidants or similar materials, which can negatively affect the fill product. These plastics have to meet all requirements as stipulated in the pharmacopoeias.

The use of plastic materials for the production of containers allows a considerably higher flexibility in packaging designs, such as containers with round, oval, angular cross-sections or bellow bottle shapes.

CAD/CAM supported mould designing and in-house manufacturing by our specialized engineers and technicians has been our standard for years and is the basis for high quality mould tools.

R&D departments for container development with test moulds using specially assigned machines are also available at our facilities.
