How Program Management Streamlines The Introduction Of Track & Trace

pharmaceutical Track & Trace

By Oliver Wyrsch , General Manager, Mettler-Toledo PCE

There's no doubt about it –pharmaceutical companies have some of the most difficult challenges imaginable when planning, manufacturing and distributing pharma products in a global sales environment.

For a start, pharma companies usually operate in complex and competitive international environments with production locations throughout the world. These regulations make the process of Track & Trace absolutely vital if pharma companies are to function successfully – and within Track & Trace, these companies must conform to an increasing number of requirements such as serial number encryption, in-line printing, verification and potential aggregation.

Ideally, these challenges need to be made as simple, streamlined and efficient as possible – which is where the concept of 'Program Management' can be invaluable. Program Management can be defined as a process of managing several inter-related projects at the same time – and it provides a proven means of integrating Track & Trace with other aspects of a pharma company's production processes.
