At Harro Hofliger we specialize in micro-dosing for inhalants.

There is a recent strong trend towards increasing the percentage of active ingredient (API) while simultaneously decreasing the total dosage volume. Consequently, these smaller fill quantities can be reliably dosed only by systems intended for those precise volumes. In addition, the checking systems must be designed for the computation and verification of such quantities.

We are specialists in micro-dosing powders and solid dose products. Fill quantities of 1 mg or less can be achieved utilizing our specific dosing principals. Our competence in powder handling encompasses a wide range of knowledge, from powder analysis to dosing with the appropriate powder dosing system. We examine active substances with regard to flow properties and dosing characteristics to determine the optimum environmental conditions and dosing principal for further testing. Once the analysis is completed, trials can be conducted with the appropriate filling technology to match the powder.

Our in-house, environmentally controlled test suites, are available for testing our customers’ active products. Containment developed especially for the solid-dose machinery program serves to protect product and operator.

To complete the program, our machine portfolio – from manual lab-scale to semi-automatic – to production scale fill equipment, is rounded off by corresponding inspection systems for mass control and quality checks.
