Multicolor Microscopy: The Importance Of Multiplexing

By Dr. Patric Pelzer, Leica Microsystems

Multicolor or multiplex microscopy is commonly used in research to better characterize disease and gain a better understanding of biological processes. The term multiplexing refers to the use of multiple fluorescent dyes to examine various elements within a sample. It allows related components and processes to be observed in parallel, adding more context to your observations and consequently providing more meaningful results.

Avoid the misleading effects of fluorescent crosstalk during imaging, find out how to select the right combination of fluorophores, and explore other approaches to avoid crosstalk during multiplexing experiments.
