Volumetric feeding by means of a flowmeter, a method that has become established at Pharmatis, was also implemented in this project; the configuration was taken over by the Mediseal HMI. The feeding system is highly flexible and can be adapted to a wide range of products. The feeding of the product by means of a flowmeter spares the use of pumps and thus the costly cleaning of pumps. Therefore, batch changes are faster, the production time is longer, and the system efficiency (OEE) is greater. A well-matched agitator reliably prevents sedimentation of the suspensions to be fed and also minimizes the input of oxygen into the products. A defined vacuum in the feeding tank enables highly precise feeding.
