This application note explores a scalable and non-invasive approach to drug sensitivity testing using 3D tumor microtissues combined with fluorescence-based readouts. By integrating InSphero’s scaffold-free microtissue technology with the Infinite® M200 PRO multimode reader, researchers can achieve high-sensitivity measurements of cell viability and drug response in biologically complex models. The study demonstrates how fluorescence intensity correlates with tissue growth and drug impact, which offers comparable results to traditional biochemical assays. Notably, 3D cultures showed significantly stronger signals than monolayer cultures, enhancing assay dynamic range. Examine detailed protocols, instrumentation settings, and comparative IC₅₀ data for compounds like Taxol, staurosporine, and chlorambucil.

Dive into the full application note to explore how 3D models are reshaping in vitro drug testing.
