PTF ERA and PTF DR, single or multiple drum automated Tablet Friability Test instruments, are manufactured in compliance to the USP, European and other Pharmacopoeias. The tested samples are automatically discharged into individual stainless steel collectors without having to remove the drums from their axis.

One of the testing criteria of mechanical strength of tablets and cores is Friability and Abrasion testing.

PTF 30ERA - Triple Drum, Variable Speed Friability Tester

This instrument has three (PTF 60ERA = 6 drums) separate drums mounted on a single axis. The instrument is supplied with three "Roche" drums as standard although it may also be used with the abrasion drums as an optional extra. Operation is virtually silent and the instrument may be set to rotate at speeds over the range of 20 to 60 rpm.

PTF 60ERA - Six Drum, Variable Speed Friability Tester

The PTF 60ERA automated Tablet Friability Tester is using 6 drums. A silent DC geared motor offering continuously adjustable rotation speed over the range of 20 – 60 rpm drives the drums around. The actual drum is made from Plexiglass (Perspex) and is separated into two parts, the drum body and a removable cover, which can be opened to clean the drum from the inside when required.

PTF 1DR - Single Drum, Balance Port, Variable Speed

This is a single drum automated friability testing instrument (triple drum unit type PTF 3DR), made in full compliance to all valid Pharmacopoieas. It offers online connection of an Analytical Balance for full test reporting. The PTF DR is capable of operation over the range of 20 to 60 rpm. Either a number of revolutions or a rotating time may be programmed.
