The Sensor Program for the Packaging Industry
With over 75 years of experience manufacturing sensors used to control, regulate, automate, position, and monitor manufacturing sequences, Balluff has designed a sensor program geared specifically for the Packaging Industry. New advances in packaging machine technology are allowing machines to become more efficient, flexible, and economical. With this in mind, the electrical and mechanical requirements for sensors are constantly increasing. Balluff has addressed this challenge by offering a product line with fewer mechanical parts, more refined electronics, and intelligent software.

Every sensor has its main strength and is an outstanding specialist in its area of application. Balluff prides itself on giving the customer " the right sensors for the right function". For complex devices such as printed marking readers, or when high flexibility is required, we use microprocessors in the design. The benefit to the user is automatic, self-calibrating sensors.

Along with tubular housings from M12 to M30 in both metal and plastic, and being the world's leader in subminiature optical sensors (our smallest sensor measures 2mm in diameter!). Balluff also offers a wide range of sensors in rigid, block-shaped plastic housings in nearly all sizes, with various functions and performance characteristics.

In conjunction with the classic diffuse, retro-reflective and thru-beam types, the Balluff optical sensor line also offers special functions and versions, including background suppression, light beam focusing, remote teach-in functionality, laser light, and analog distance measurement to name a few. Special models for fiber optics, slot sensors, color marking sensors, luminescence sensors, and a full line of accessories round out the program.
