Bioject and Merck Share Injection Technology

Bioject Medical Technologies, Inc. (Portland, OR), a manufacturer of jet injection devices for needle-free intradermal, subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, recently announced that it has entered into an agreement that allows Merck & Co. to use its jet injection system to deliver selected Merck vaccines. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Jim O'Shea, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Bioject, underscored the importance of the agreement by noting that these jet injection systems are the only needle-free injectors available today capable of delivering intradermal, subcutaneous and intramuscular injections.
