More than 50 years ago Mr. Martin (the "mar" in Calmar) introduced the world to the first all-plastic pump sprayer. This innovation and the many to follow over the next five decades would allow Saint-Gobain Calmar to extend well beyond the technology of yesteryear.

1950s - 1970s

Recognized as an emerging industry leader, Calmar was acquired by a series of parent companies, providing the financial support to relocate and expand with new sprayer and dispenser lines.

1974

Calmar purchases the preeminent dispensing products manufacturer in Germany, the Albert Company, gaining a European presence and the rights to the Mark II fine mist sprayer.

1985

Calmar purchases The Realex Corporation, a major producer of sprayers and dispensers, expanding Calmar's product offering.

1992

Calmaracquires Monturas, S.A. in Spain, further reinforcing its presence in Europe.

1998

Calmar is acquired by Compagnie de Saint-Gobain, enabling Calmar to expand its capacity and spur new innovations in its trigger, fine mist, dispenser, and pharmaceutical product lines.
