Carlisle Acquires Extract Technologies Ltd.

Carlisle Companies Inc. (Syracuse, NY) has acquired Extract Technologies Ltd., a biotech/pharmaceutical system provider with headquarters in Huddersfield, England and an engineering and sales support office in Princeton, NJ. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Extract designs and manufactures containment and bulk powder handling applications used in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Carlisle will combine Extract with its Carlisle Barrier Systems company to form Carlisle Pharmaceutical Systems (CPS).

According to CPS president Michael J. Kays, the acquisition will provide the foundation for Carlisle's expansion in specialized systems and equipment in the global biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. The combined capability of Extract and Carlisle Barrier Systems will provide customers with turnkey expertise from the discovery phase through the product packaging, Kays added.

Carlisle is a diversified manufacturer of products serving four major markets: construction materials, industrial components, automotive components, and general industry.
