Chesapeake Biological Laboratories Inc. (CBL; Baltimore), a pharmaceutical and medical device developer and commercial manufacturer of parenteral and aseptic products, announced that one of its clients received FDA approval, another received a FDA approvable letter, and a third received approval based on FDA verification of additional work being performed at CBL. All three of the products will be manufactured at CBL.

According to CBL president and CEO Thomas P. Rice, these are the first new products to receive an approval status for commercial manufacturing in the company's new Camden facility. They also represent "the realization of [CBL's] goal to become a contract supplier of both clinical materials and commercial products," he continued.

The products, when marketed, may provide CBL with annual commercial manufacturing revenue of as much as $4 to $5 million, Rice added.

Under client confidentiality policy, CBL was not permitted to disclose the names of the companies or products that received approval.
